Dear All,
As you know, tomorrow is the official Youth and Sports Festival in Turkey commemorating Ataturk and the national struggle for independence. The Turkish High Consulate in London is organising a Youth Festival on this important occassion in London. The event will take place between 12.30 and 18.00 in front of the Turkish Embassy in London: Rutland Lodge Gardens, Knightsbridge, London, SW7 1BW.The entrance is free. There will be musical and dance performances with light refreshments being served all day.
We would also like to remind our members that we will give an interview as OUTS on Sunday explaining the mission, objectives and range of activities of the society. They are also interested in learning the expereiences of the Turkish students in Oxford whether or not they are members of OUTS. The interview will be complemented by photos and possibly video clips and will most likely be covered in many media outlets in Turkey. If you would like to attend to this interview, share your take of life in Oxford and (wheather permitting) have a nice Sunday in Oxford meet us at the entrance of Christ Church College (by the meadow) at 14.45 on Sunday, May 20.
And lastly, the Cypriot band 'Trio Tekke' is performing on Tuesday, May 22, at Cape of Good Hope at 21.00. We have greatly enjoyed this concert last year and strongly encourage you to come have a listen to the familiar tunes they will be playing. There is an entrance fee of 5£ at the gates and further details are in the attached flyer.
Another busy week has already started. Although the weather is still cold in Oxford, we have quite hot events again.
